Why the Eastern Highlands Should Be Your Next Getaway

Mist, mountains and three-day weekends — a short love letter to Manicaland and why we keep going back.

Everyone talks about Vic Falls (fine, deserved). But ask anyone who has done both and they'll tell you a secret: the Eastern Highlands is Zimbabwe's reset button.

Three reasons

  • It's close. Under four hours from Harare and the whole mood changes — cooler air, winding roads, signal fading in the best way.
  • It's affordable. No flights, no premium park fees. That's why our Highlands weekends cost less than you'd expect.
  • It moves at your pace. Hike Mt Nyangani if you're keen, or take the blanket-and-book route at Troutbeck. Both count.

When to go

April–May for green hills and clear skies; July–August for proper fireplace weather. We run both seasons — watch the trips page.
